Over the last eight years, I have spent summer vacations and holiday breaks on the fields of the Fastpitch Fever Softball Camp. I have climbed the ladder through camp, starting as a camper and now as an instructor. Growing up as a part of this camp, I can attribute a lot of my success on and off the field to Donna, Staci and the camp they run.

As a camper, camp taught me the vital fundamentals needed to succeed defensively and offensively.  I was taught proper fielding techniques and Staci helped perfect my swing. After making the varsity softball team at Santaluces High School my freshman year, I gave all the credit to camp.

As the years continued on, I saw my roles at camp changing. In the following years I became a line leader, and in this position I got the best of both worlds. I was given a little more authority, which allowed me to pass my softball knowledge on to the youngsters, but at the same time I was allowed to participate in the drills.

Over the last few years, I have become a full-fledged instructor and this is hands down my favorite position. I love working with the little girls and seeing the passion in their eyes. There is nothing more rewarding than passing my acquired knowledge on to these girls and seeing them put it to use. I have yet to find something more gratifying than seeing a camper outside of camp and having them tell me about their successes on the field and knowing you helped them get there.

The best aspects of camp, the skills learned aside, are the friends and network opportunities you make along the way. Some of my best friends have worked this camp with me over the years and not a time goes by where we can’t find a good memory or silly joke to share from camp.. It is all those instructors that make the camp enjoyable but it is Donna and Staci that make the camp go round. I have never met two individuals so dedicated to helping these girls succeed. Those two were integral parts in helping me earn a softball scholarship to Florida Gulf Coast University and then at Palm Beach Community College.

I have grown up in the camp and would recommend it to anyone that is truly passionate about the sport. Not only does it teach you the skills you need to succeed on the field, but teaches you valuable lessons in leadership, teamwork, and most importantly, friendship. The camp does an amazing job at incorporating all age groups and fusing all different playing styles together to create one successful camp. This camp has made me into the player that I am today, but more importantly given me the confidence as an individual to chase after my goals in life.

Sincerely,

Jen Marietta

I am a parent of three girls that have been involved in the Fast Pitch Fever camp for the past five years.  I can not explain enough what a positive and fun experience the camp has been for my girls.  Not only has it taught them the fundamental skills of softball through fun games and hard work it has also taught them leadership and cooperation skills along with building their confidence and teaching them respect, discipline and socialization.  The camp has been a fun way for my daughters to experience softball and the love for the game. The atmosphere that Donna and Staci have created has been both caring and professional in and outside of camp.

My daughter Alyssa attended the Fastpitch Fever Camp for three consecutive seasons.  At the camp she was taught many skills that have made her the player/pitcher she is today.  She worked under the guidance of Coaches' Donna and Staci who have both become great influences and role models for my daughter and many other young ladies..
